Four is my lucky number. I'm encouraged by the fact that 1/1/11 (today's date), added together 1+1+1+1=4, and if you add 2011 together, it also equals 4. Maybe this will be a good year. I'm also 34 years old for another four months, so hey, lots of 4s all around. Maybe that will be enough magical juju to get me an interview. (Insert eye rolling here.)
Ah... but if not, whatever. I have no expectations.
Right now, I'm working on my syllabus for my three-day class. It's going to be fairly tame, methinks. I'm just going to teach The Hunger Games and a little bit of The Elements of Style, and I figure that will be good enough.
As for the spring semester, that starts on Jan. 25, the week after my 3-week class ends. So there's really no break in there. I'm looking for more things to keep my mind occupied, though, so that's probably a good thing.
Anyway, happy new year, y'all. I'm nursing a 2010 hangover, so forgive me if I seem under-enthused. It was a very difficult year. I hope that this one is much, much happier.

I'm catching up on reading, but I have to say, I love The Hunger Games. I also have a t-shirt that has a silloet (Probably not spelled right, but I really don't care at this moment) of Katniss with her bow pulled and it says "Girl on Fire."
